SHARE HAWKING.
According to the Biiebs-.ne "Courier" judicial comment by Supreme Court judges in recent actions involving the purchase of shares, has once more focussed attention upon ths growing evil attending the promiscuous buying of shares by the untutored and inexp?rienced investing public from, as it were, itinerant house-to-house pedlars. "The practice of sharehawking." continues the Courier," "is practically a post-war innovation, but though it was comparatively harmless in the kindergarten stages it has made enormous strides within recent years, so much so as to create a feeling of uneasiness in the realm of economics." Recently in Maryborough Mr. Justice Brennan, replying to an objection to the words "go-getters," as applied to bonds salesmen, observed: — "When a syndicate or a company by its prospectus fails to attract investors through the ordinary channels of advertising, and the employment of qualified and recognised brokers, and resorts to the methods of employing unqualified salesmen to canvass the countryside for the purpose « lS. inR al, and sund'y to take shares, rJJ™ J*" "yndicate or company, even «?•?„♦ "V turn out verv successful in
