ENGLAND OPTIMISTIC.
TOWN PLANNING IN GERMANY. ARCHITECT'S IMPRESSIONS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DUNEDIN, this day. "I was impressed with the wave of optimism in England, and I am sure the country is on the eve of very great progress," said Mr. Edmund Anscombe, a Dunedin architect, who has just returned from a world tour. Everybody he spoke to in England, he remarked, was looking forward to a good time, and thought the country was on the eve of an era of prosperity. In Germany, where Mr. Anscombe visited the principal towns, he found people well dressed, and seemingly prosperous. A feature which particularly impressed him were the buildings. "In town planning, and in providing for future developments the Germans can teach us a lot," remarked Mr. •Anscombe. He made a trip to Potsdam,
