PORK FOR EXPORT.
NORTHERN SUPPLIERS
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. Speaking at the annual meeting of suppliers of the Whangarei Dairy Company to-day, Mr. Alex. Clarke stated that the quantity of pigs forwarded through the local marketing association last season was 1200. This export had the effect of keeping the local market good for producers. Regarding the Government subsidy of Vsd per lb on pork exported, this was not available yet, but it was hoped it would be distributed amongst shippers in the very near future. It was not desirable to send pigs forward for export before November 1.
