As I have already said, Betty Horan, Great North Road, Avondale, age 10, came first, having sent in a list of 149 words, but out of those S2T& a winning list of 137 correct words. !l7« ki T , ' * P ak ' *«• 14 ' come » second with a list of 134 allowable words. In passing. I must say a few words of praise for this I*LMZ7a a*??* qUit * t . h " be,t "* out competition paper that 1 received, and that s saying something, for some "Budget" reader, are ▼•ry neat and tidy. Josephine Franich, Great North Road, Henderson, age 16, the third prise winner, sent in 133 allowable words, whilst Patricia Horan, Fairburn f, Ormiston, 14, Lake Road, Takapuna, age 12, had 126 and 120 allowable words respectively. The competition on the whole was quite well done, and there was not a great deal of blue pencil used on the whole bunch of entries. I only wish that 1 could say the same about word building competitions! With the holidays in full swing you will all have that "holiday feeling," •® wh £ f® 4 write and tell me exactly what you would like to be doing in your holidays? Some of you might care to be boating, others camping, and yet others travelling. Write — and tell me what you would like to be doing, and perhaps you'll win one of the prises that 1 am offering OJU^f i® "Our Competition Corner."
