DOCTORS' DISPUTE.
ANAESTHETICS IN HOSPITAL. PROCEDURE IN QUESTION. _____ (From Our Own -Correspondent.) KAITAIA, Friday. Dr. Rex, anaesthetist to the Mangonui Hospital Board, lodged a protest at the board meeting against the action of Dr. Cameron, medical superintendent of the hospital, in employing the matron to give ahaesthetics in major operations. He said he considered it to be against the best interests of the patients, and stated that a qualified anaesthist should always be employed in major surgery. Dr. Cameron said the matron was quite capable, and that the practice v-as perfectly safe and a saving of anaesthetist fees. The board decided to ask the DirectorGeneral of Health for a ruling.
