CORNER FOR BUSY BEES.

HOW TO MAKE EVERTON . TOFFEE. A GOOD PLAIN TOFFEE. TOO. (Conducted by TINKER BELL.) Dear Girls, — Several "Budget" readers have asked for a recipe (or plain toffee that is not expensive to make. There is nothing better, to my mind, than Everton toffee, and as this requires but few ingredients, and asks hut little skill from the amateur cooks, 1 have chosen it for the "plain toffee recipe" 1 have been asked for. The ingredient* required are 2lb sugar, Jib butter, and 1 table spoonful of vinegar. Having obtained the necessary materials, place the butter into a sauepan and when it has melted add the sugar and vinegar, and allow the mixture to boQ until a little dropped into cold water becomes crisp. Pour the mixture into a buttered tray and allow to cool. Should the Jib of butter prove a little too expensive for your needs, another good recipe for plain toffee is as follows:—Mix two cups of sugar with half a cup of water and two table*, i spoonfuls of vinegar. Boil for half ian hour, and pour into buttered tray to cool.

These two recipes should fulfil the wants of our readers, and both toffees will be found good and wholesome.
