MUSICAL SOCIETY'S OPERETTA. Au entertainment was given by the Henderson Musical Society in the Heilderson Town Hall on Thursday evening. The programme consisted of a Japanese School operetta, entitled "Princess Chrvsanthemum. ' The title role was ta}ven 'by Missarr. atid the other principal characters by Mr. birth, Mr. Dawson Allely. Mr. E. P. Suclie. Miss E. Roberts. Mr. G. Allely." Misses De Montalk, Perkins. Moore arid Stone Mr. Ingram and Miss Eddie Jones. Ihe play was well staged, and the iiorpeons costumes, typical of tin? Flowery Lanil, were greatly admired. The musical items, requiring considerable care and patience iu their preparation, were much applauded, those given by the children being especially pleasing. An innovation introduced into the dialogue for the purpose of allowing allusions to l>e made to certain poisons ot note in Henderson, was the use ot passages from the "Mikado," a number of local celebrities being pkiced cm the little list ' ot those who "never would be missed. ' Mrs. De Montalk was at the piano.
