POWER BOARD DANCE.

Despite the cold and wet evening all previous records were broken by the huge success that attended the Auckland Electric Power Board's plain and fancy dress dance held in the Social Hall, Qtray Street, on Saturday evening, where the members of the staff entertained their friends at one of their enjoyable dances for which its social club is noted. The social hall was beautifully decorated In a scheme of scarlet and gold and twinkling coloured lights. Long before 8 o'clock the hall was thronged with dancers, who were enthusiastic in their appreciation of the excellent music supplied by Al. Clark's jazz orchestra. Visitors included members of the staff of the Auckland City Council, Auckland Harbour Board, and representatives of many of the electrical firms of Auckland. Mr. Hill acted as organiser of dances, and Messrs. H. De Wolfe, K. Fitzwilliam, Captain K. Tilsley, T. Hill and Miss McDonagh acted as judges of the fancy dresses. Miss L. Edgar, queen of the harem, was awarded first prize for ladies, and Mr. A. B. Glover, Indian brave, first prize for gentlemen.
