WASHINGTON, March 25.

The anti-British virus of Mr. W. Thompson, Mayor of Chicago, hat penetrated Congress.

Mr. L. M. Black (Democrat, New York) has submitted a motion asking for an appropriation of £1000 in order to conduct an investigation by Congress into American school history books, so as to determine if any anti-American bias exists and if they have been influenced by foreign propaganda. Mr. Black said:—"lf the history books are tainted with British propaganda, as is alleged by Mr. Thompson, then steps should be taken to remove the taint."
