ON MOUNT OP OLIVES.

JERUSALEM, March 25.

The International Missionary Council has opened at the former Government House on the Mount of Olives and is being attended by 230 delegates representing 56 countries.

Dr. John R. Mott (America) in {lis opening address, said that as a result of the meeting there should, be such a blending of the older churches of the West with the . .mnger churches in the East in mutual work as was never previously achieved.

Dr. John R. Mott, of Madison Avenue,, New York, is chairman of the Executive Committee of the Student Volunteer movement and chairman of the Continuation Committee of the World Missionary Conference. He has been a lifelong worker and traveller on behalf of young men and foreign missions. He declined to be U.S.A. Ambassador to China. A street in Salonica is named in his honour.
