I . Haurakl Mines.—The manager reports that the seaward face at the 400 ft level has been suspended for the present, to enable driving to be done into the hangingwnll country to locate the source ot ; the strong flow of water coming from that j wall. It in probably coming from the | Green Harp reef. The rise on the junction of the two reefs is being worked 1 only spare time and is now 35ft from j the floor of the 400 ft level. The reef is still the full width of the rise. The I Hauraki shaft is down ISft below the ! 500 ft chamber, with no change to report j in the favourable nature of the country rock met with. The crosscut towards the Hauraki North section is now 450 ft from the new reef.
