RIFLE SHOOTING.
AKARANA RIFLE CLUB.
Members of the. Akarana Rifle Club competed for trophies presented by Mr. H. F. Drafbn, over the ranges of 500 yds and 600 yds at Penrose rifle range 011 Saturday, shooting being at a fairly high standard, notwithstanding a strong right wind. Silver spoons were won by T. Elliott, Jun., and Stan Elliott. The top men in each section take 3, 2 and 1 points respectively. Details of the shoot are as follow:—
A Section (Mr. H. F. Sallery's Trophy).— T. Elliott, jun., 47 at 500 yds, 44 at 600 yds— total, 91; J. R. Draffln, 45, 44—89; A. W. Powell, 46. 43 —89 ; G. G. Ashley, 46, 43— 89 ; C. B Section (Mr. D. Calder's Trophy).— Stan Elliott, 45, 36 —81; Don Ashley, 41, 39 —80; C. Marrett, 32, 38—70; T. Bevan 33, 27—60.

CITY AND SUBURBS CLUB.
The City and Suburbs Rifle Club fired the third shoot of the first trophy series at 500 and 600 yards on Saturday. Conditions were fairly good, the strong right wind being steady. Scoring was high. A. L. Patrick compiled an excellent score. Joining R. C. Russell in the lead for the championship five points away from the next pair. In B grade 11. \V. Verrall made a fine score, but found it impossible to win with the handicaps he had to concede. IMeterson and Cozens won a spoon each. A GKADE. A. T. Patrick 40, 4t!—os; A. J. Firing in conjunction with the City Club, representatives from the University Bred a practice for the forthcoming Haslam Shield contest, consisting of five application, snap and rapid at 200 yards, and live application at *>(N) yards. Results:—
