WHANGAREI, this day.

Miss Tlielma Simons, a daughter of Mr.* W. T. Simons, of Main's Avenue, and a pupil of the Whangarei High School, has been successful in securing * homfi science bursary at Otago University. ,

Miss Simons' is believed to be the only award made to a candidate north of Auckland. There are only ten bursaries awarded.
