Libel Action Against Dr. Marie Stopes. CONTROL OP "MORNING POST." (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, January 2*l
Mr. H. A. Gwynne, editor of tlu> '.'Morning Post," has been awarded £200 damages in a libel action against Dr. Marie Stopes. The action arose out of her letter to the Duke of Northumberland suggesting that Roman Catholics were manipulating the paper because the "Morning Post" Vsfnscd to continue the Society of Constructive Birth Control's advertisements. Mr. Gwynne, in evidence, said that he never knew prior to the case that Roman Ca the lies were the chief antagonists of birth control.

PRAYER BOOK AMENDMENTS. (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, January 20. The Protestant Alliance and the League of Loyal Churchmen have passed resolutions to the effect that as the amended Prayer Book is essentially the same as before, in that it restores the Mass and permits the adoration of the Reserved Sacrament, they appeal to Parliament to reject the measure, and also to pass a bill to compel the bishops to do their duty or resignThe English Church Union carried the resolution proclaiming their belief in the adoration of the Sacrament whether reserved or not and urged the Church Assembly to oppose attempts to hinder adoration. It was decided to summon a meeting when the Prayer Book reaches Parliament in order to affirm the doctrine of the real presence.—(A. and N.Z. and Sydney "Sun.")
