CONSIGNMENTS OF LIQUOR.

DETAILED ADDBESS REQUIRED.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

ASHBURTON, this day

Mr. Orr Walker, S.M., to-day gave his reserved judgment In the case in which Bishop and Co., of Christchurch, were charged with having failed to place the name and address of a purchaser on packages of liquor sent into a no-license area, an<jl James Somerville, of Seafield, and James Sim were charged with having failed to place their names and address on orders.

Counsel had contended that the address "Ashburton" was sufficient.

The magistrate held that such address was not sufficient. The address must be a reasonable one, so that the liquor could be traced. As this type of address had hitherto been accepted, he did not impose a fine, but ordered the payment of costs only.
