C. McCONACHY PLAYS C. A. STEVENSON. TAUMARUNUI, Thursday. Clark McConachy, New Zealand professional billiards champion, Is playing a match with C. A. Stevenson, the Taumarunul amateur, at Taumarunui. The match commenced yesterday afternoon and is a game of 4000 up, McConachy conceding 2500. The play yesterday was of good standard and there was a large attendance. McConachy brought his total to 1000 in the afternoon, his best breaks being 814, 165, 147, 122, and 118. Stevenson's total was 2668, his best break being 40. At the evening session McConachy did not shape as well as io the afternoon, and Stevenson's play improved considerably. McConachy brought his total to 2000, his best breaks being 147, 114, 84, 77, 70, 61, 59, 40, 39, 37, and 33. Stevenson's total at the close of the evening session was 3159, his best breaks being 120. 57, 44, 34, 25. A close finish is antldpsted.
