DEATH OF ACCOUNTANT.

SUM OF ABOUT £300 MISSING. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. A warrant had been issued a week ago for the arrest of Lionel Comerford, whose body was found in the Waimakariri River to-day. Shortly after Comerford disappeared, a fortnight ago, his coat, which contained a letter to the manager of the bjewery, of which he was accountant, was found on the bank of the river. Investigations showed that a sum of about £300 belonging to the brewery could not be accounted for. The butt of a cheque book found in his clothing showed that two cheques had been drawn on September 29 for sums of over £200.
