Cabled information has been received of the death' in Cornwall of the Her. Edmund Harvey Taylor, who wa» w»U known on the Thames goldfieU as pastor of the Church of Christ for 40 years, and who represented Thames in Parliament in the Liberal interest from 1909 to 1911. Born at Lancast, Cornwall, in 1835, deceased came to New Zealand in 1882. He was intimately associated with the temperance movement, having been a foundation member of the-'Xew Zealand Alliance, for 11 Tears Grand Chief Templar of the Independent Order of Good Templars, and had at different periods held the positions of president and secretary of the Prohibition League. as well as serving as a member of the Thames Licensing Committee. For some years he had resided at Auckland, and was associated with the Western Sprjng* Congregational Church at Morningside. He is survived by two daughters.
