Thfi large house of Mr. Liiighey, in Allandale Road, Mount Albert, W« broken into at midnight on Tuesday, and five silver cups and a silver pedeetal, of a total value of £30, were stolen.
The house has been unoccupied for •otue time, as Mr. Caughey has been ab»*nt on a tour Abroad. He returns to Auckland on Monday next. A relative of .Mr. Caughey, Mho lives rtext door, has been looking after the house (taring his absence, and every day opens the 3oors to give the house an airing: The burglar first attempted to force the back floor, but failed. He then tried a side window, and managed to gain entrance. .
