Incessant wet weather during the month of August has brought hemj> production a.most to a standstill, and as a result of this inactivity very little business has been passing. Not only are several mills in the Manswatu district on the point of opening for the season (says the "Post"), but there is a fair amount of fibre in the paddocks awaiting fine weather before it on be dealt with.
