OUR COMPETITION CORNER.

83.—The second instalment of our Serial Story appears to-day under the Winners' Work. Entries for a third chapter will be received until next Wednesday, and will appear a fortnight from to-day. There will then be another competition for a fourth and final instalment. This week's entries should be about 400 words in length. The prizes are a "Boys', (or Girls') Own Annual," 3/, and 2/.

84.—Elsewhere appears a list of definitions, all of which can be answered by words built from "chrysanthemums." When writing out vuur entry, put at the top of the page the number of answers found. A riddle must be enclosed with each list, and in cases where the competitors tie, will be taken as the deciding factor. The first prize is a "Boy's (or Girls') Own Annual"; 3/ and 2/ will be awarded for the next best entries.

85.—Most of you will remember that a month or two ago there was a competition in which, a word had to be written down in two .perpendicular columns, spelt backwards in column No. 2, and the spaces between filled in with words beginning and ending with corresponding letters. The object was to find the greatest number of syllables. The word to be used this time is "refrigerate." Among this week's puzzles appears the winning entry for thformer competition as an example of what is wantr.l. At the top of your entry, write down the number of syllables found. Th • first prize is a "Bovs , (or Girls') Own Annual," the second 3/, and the third 2/.

86.—T0 our veteran jigglers, instructions are no longer necessary- but for the benefit of new readers, I again indicate the bottom right-hand "corner of the picture. Trace this line, embodying it in an ORIGINAL Indian inldrawing A "Boys' (or Girls') Own Annual" awaits the winner. Two other prizes of 2/6 will be given.
