NOTES FROM WANGANUI.

TRACK FORM DISCUSSED.

RAYNER'S TEAM WELL FORWARD. (By Telefraph.—Special to "Star.") WANGANUI, Tuesday. Most of the visiting horses have arrived for the Wangaaui meeting on Thursday and Saturday. The weather prdspeets are not too bright, steady rain falling all day, but unless it continues the going will be in good order for the opening day. The. well-known . horseman W. *H. Jones has decided to make his home in I Wanganui. His mounts here win include Star Area, Carrigallen and Doree. Jl "MicTjmgfiliii arrived yesterday with Lausanne and Golden Prospect; H. Pritchard, with Royal Game; H. Kingan, with Australia; and W. Young, with Carrigallen. In addition to Mr. G. M. dime's team Bert Horns will ride ' Anchor, Lucky Days and Bank Note; H. Wiggins, Whenuanui and Tea Time; R. McTavish, Tβ Monanui and either Marion's Birthday or Second- Wind; E. A. Keesing, Silverminej" A.' McCormac, Silver Rule and Bisox. One of the best gallops this morning was registered by Covent Garden, on whom Thaw got a break of a couple of lengths, but the former soon made up his leeway, and the pair were together at the end in 50s for half-a-mile. Both were running on well at the end. Lysander, with a light boy up, ran five furlongs in 1.3 3-5, the last four in 51s. He was not hurried over the first bit, but was being ridden at the end. This was a second slower than Grand Knight took yesterday, but Lysander is a notoriously lazy track worker. Lausanne strode out well in covering four furlongs, the last three taking 395. Tea Time hit out strongly in running three furlongs in 395. Bank Hate is looking bright and well, and he promises to be better suited by the firmer going here. The same applies to Star Area,, who is much improved in appearance by his racing: AUoway has also brightened up and went well this morning. Anchor is in great heart and shaped well in a four-furlong spin with lamosa, 'who is expected to show to better advan-, tage here than at Marton. Verne Collelo has Bennanee in fine shape, and fie ntored very freely in his work this morning. Town Bird made friends by the way he stayed in a gallop with CarrigaDen over half-ft-mik, in which he registered a tick under ate, and waa- running on welL He will he hard far beat in his engagements. Hipo waa going nicely at the end of a ftve-furiong apin in company with Nastorf. c Th«rletter also pleased, and is evidently very welL ■ If appearances go for anything Royal Gaw* i* a- »ue* improved horse, ana he is coming into favour for the «Seafield Handicap, far which Monaghan is likely to be most fanciedTboDj* Mask is most favoored for the Marangai JHandicap, many fancy Sden Haß, whose gallop yesterday was ;.;*t best seen here, over the distance, tor i long time.
