FIRE AT TAUMARUNUI.
DAMAGE DONE TO HOTEL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TAUMARUNUI, this day. Fire broke out in a sitting room in the Grand Hotel at 7 o'clock this morning. The brigade effected a good save, but damage was done by water to the sitting room and also to the stock of Mr. L. H. Joyce, men's outfitter, below the hotel, The contents are insured for £8250 in the South British office, and Mr. Joyes' stock is insured for £750 in the 1.0.A., and for £.300 in the Xew Zealand office. The cause of the fire was a defective chimney.
