King Country kicked off sigainst the sun. and Quln immediately set the backs in motion, pasting to Carter, to Kemp, to Winter, (o Storej. and back to Kemp, who was tackled on the line, a free kick relieving. Storey tielded the kick and punted high. Wllkes followed up fast, and opened Waikato's scoring by touching down near the corner. Winter failed to convert. On resuming Nieholls, Finlay and Wlenberg initiated a passing movement, but no ground wan gained. After a period of even play Jlolmes secured and sent to Carter, to Kemp, to Winter, to Rtickinpham. but a knock-on pulled them up. Lejrpett relieving.
