SCRAPPY DISPLAY.
In the opening stapes of the came between Somervllle and University Colts plav moved up and down the iield fairly rapidly neither team gaining any decided advantage. From a twenty-five bully in "Varsity 8 half B. Watts and Rogers carried up the left of the field and then into the circle The goalie attempted to kick clear, but Rogers came in again and netted. E. Watts was soon back again, but Alexander cleared with a hard hit. Hay led the students to the attack, and some close work in the circle followed. 'Varsity were penalised, and from the hit Baildou cleared. 'Varsity forwards, headed by Hay, attacked strongly on the right wing, but lost possession when in tho circle. E. Watts and Rogers had a turn on the attack, but were unable to find the net. They came again and Alexander was called upon to clear. Both teams were indulging in a lot of hard hitting. The 'Varsity forwards, who were playing a streuuous game, made another onslaught and Hay netted. From the bully Somerville carried to their opponents' circle, where, from a scramble in the goal's mouth, A. Rogers netted. Baildon sent the ball to A. Rogers who carried down the wing into the circle and netted his third goal. Halftime saw no further score. In the second spell E. Watts added another goal, and the game ended : Somerville 4 'Varsity Colts 1
