WILLIAMSON FILMS AND FULLER-HA YW ARD. RUMOURS EMPHATICALLY DENIED. Rumours of big picture theatre mergers in which J C. Williamson films and the FullerHayward combinc were recently mentioned were to-da\ emphatically denied liv Mr. Beaumonl Wraith, managing director of J. C, Williamson films in New Zealand. Mr. and Mrs. Smith came back from Sydney Ijy the Aorangi to-day. Mr. Smith has brought back with him plans for the new 2000 capacity theatre which is to be built by his firm in Dunedin. The new theatre will go up on the site now occupied l>v Smith and Smith in the Octagon. During his month's visit over the other side. Mr. Smith conferred with the representatives of his firm. He also visited Melbourne. The rights for Paramount pictures in New Zealand next year were obtained by Mr. Smith for the Regent Theatre, aiul some first-class films are expected.
