MOANATAIARI.
i ■ After being neglected for a week or ,* two, a demand set in for shares in the Moanatairi G.M. Company to-day, and ® sales were made up to 3/ at the noon ' call, as against sellers at 2/7 last Friday. 0 Mr. H. H. Adams, who has just returned 5 from the Thames, brought with him a 11 block of fine-looking quartz taken from s the centre of the 4ft reef now I>eing worked upon. This block showed gold, e and upon being broken in halves pood y big dabs of the precious metal could be 3 seen distributed through the ore. There e was also ruby silver to be seen, as well 11 as a little copper. This reef has been r driven upon 18ft from the bottom of the f winze, and has shown gold all the way. 1 There is 120 ft vertical before the water e level is reached. The reef appears to be , quite a new one. and is situated fully f SOft above the old Moanataiari tunnel. but some distance awav from its eoursc. \
