The evidence showed that an altercation occurred in a hotel over a small dog owned by Paterson. Paterson alleged that Cooper kicked the dog and struck him ( Paterson I on the nose and j leg. Cooper said he accidentally tripped over the dog and that Paterson struck hiin with an umbrella. Cooper was convicted and fined £2 for assault and 10/ for drunkenness. AUCTIONS.
