OLD ATHLETE DEAD.

CHRIST CHURCH, this day. Mr. Chairles Percy Cox, who died yesterday, was an excellent all-round athlete, his outstanding performance being the winning of the Dominion half-mile championship in 1889. During the year 1888 he represented Wairarapa against Wellington at Rugby football, and in the following year played for Southland against Otago and the Maori fifteen.
