Burton, who has resigned after eighteen years serv.ieo as secretary of the Society for the Protection of Women and "Children. Apologies were received from the Rev. Sir. Smallfield and others connectcd with this association, who were unable to be present. Mr. O'Brien spoke of the sxcellont. and faithful services rendered bv Miss Burton and the goVnl work that had been done by one who was ever tactful. All regretted her resigning, which was owing to health reasons, and , liopcd she would be spared in health for many years of usefulness, if not with this society, in some other service to the community.
