BOY SLEEPING IN CAVE.

"I'VE RUN AWAY FROM HOME." POLICE TAKE HIM IN" CHARGE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. "I've run away from home," was the explanation given by a boy of 12J years who was found sleeping in a cave on the hill at Sumner on Saturday morning. Mr. T. Crawshaw, of Scarborough, Sumner, was taking a short cut from his home to the tram for the city, when he saw a heap of clothing, and, to his astonishment, found the lad. His statement and his starved and frozen appearance caused Mr. Crawshaw to take him to a constable. The boy said he went to Lyttelton, and afterwards to Sumner. Although he said he lived in Sumner he was not able to find the house, and was removed to the police station in the city. Another lad of similar age is at present missing from New Brighton, where a series of robberies were committed quite recently.
