BIG COUP IN BRISBANE.
The greatest coup in Brisbane's turf history was associated with Running Girl's win in the Stradbroke Handicap, Q.T.C.'s big sis-furlongssprintt t at Ascot recently, says "Smith's Weekly." It yielded £12,000, making a total of £21,000 harvested by the connections ot this great galloper brought from the Northern Rivers of New South Wales. They bet on the race with a confidence that refused to countenance defeat. The fact that Chryso was in the field amounted to a stroke of luck for the men behind Running Girl. Running Girl's connections were always able to get a good price about their fancy, and they made the most of the opportunity. The result is that to-day tliey are rich men. When those who did not know what Running Girl's mission would he were specking her in doubles on the Brisbane Thousand a stable commission was launched for the Stradbroke.
