FRUITGROWERS CONFER.

ORCHARD TAX RENEWED. REVISION OF CONTROL ACT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The annual conference of tlie New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation ended today. It was decided that the orchard tax should lie renewed, the minimum tax being fixed at 5/. Conference decided to request the Minister to bring down a bill embodying the revisions to the Control Act agreed upon at last conference. A suggestion that the provinces submit proposals for the best way to advertise New Zealand fruit was favoured. Business concluded with a vote of thanks to Mr. 11. E. Napier, manager of the federation, and his officers, to the director of the horticultural division, Mr. J. A. Campbell, and his officers, and to Mr. Gray for the able manner in which he had represented the federation in London. A special tribute was paid to Mr. T. C. Brash, president of the confecence.
