He went to the police station, took up a position outside the detective office, and astonished the etaff there by hurling a stone through a window. Then he marched in and informed the police that he had done it. Thie morning McKay pleaded guilty to a charge of damaging a pane of glass valued at £2. The chief detective said medical attention was advisable. Accused had served in the Navy, but deserted on two occasions and the authorities did not want him back. The magistrate said it would not be advisable for accused to be at large until he had received special treatment. He could receive thie at the gaol. Accused was sentenced to a month*s imprisonment and ordered to pay £2 in compensation.
