GOLDFIELDS JUBILEE.
ORGANISATION ADVANCED.
A well attended meeting of the Thames Goldfield Jubilee Celebrations Committee was held on Tuesday evening, Mr. E. Watson presiding. The Northern S.S. Co. advised that a steamer would leave Auckland on Friday, July 30, at 3.30 p.m., Saturday 31, 2 p.m., and Monday, August 4, at 4 p.m. Mr. Garrett, of the Accommodation Committee, reported that naiefactory arrangements had been made in regards accommodating tho large number of visitors that were expected. Among the important recommendations adopted were the purchase of 10,000 envelopes bearing suitable advertising matter for free distribution among Thames residents, the advertising cf tbe celebrations in 105 Dominion newspapers and the forwarding of invitations to the Prime Minister ana the Minister of Mines. It wad also decided to arrange for suitable memorial services in the churches and the co-operation of tht Ministers Association.
