SOCIAL GATHERINGS.
At the Devon Street Hall on Thursday a "bring and buy" afternoon was given by the Devon Street Ladies' Guild, when a most enjoyable and profitable time was spent by those present. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the ladies' committee. • * » • %4. delightful farewell party was given to their Auckland friends last week by Mrs. and Miss Lodge, prior to their return to Sydney and was held in the Tudor tea rooms. Mrs. Lodge wore black marocain trimmed with biege and a black velvet hat with feather mount; Miss Lodge, henna marocain, with a small French hat in black; Mrs. John Gilbert, amethyst crepe de chine and amethyst hat of crinoline and lace; Mrs. F. Thompson, jade green marocain and green hat; Mrs. Ashton, burgundy velvet hat to tone: Mrs. Keeble, henna marocain and henna hat with, ospreys; Mrs. Lochuer, navy costume and navy and scarlet hat; Mrs. Spencer, white and biege costume and hat; Mrs. Cowell, lemon costume and velour hat; Miss Janet Murray, navy georgette and white satin hat with ospreys; Miss McDonald, brown tailored costume; Miss Ashton, rod costume and hat to tone.
