FRANKTON STOCK SALE.
PRICES GENERALLY FIRM. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report:—At the weekly stock sale in the Frankton yards yesterday, we had a fair entry of stock of all classes. Values in the beef pens were unchanged, two and three-year store steers met with good competition. Fat sheep were again firm at advanced rates. There was also a good inquiry for all classes of stores. Fat piga were a little firmer, while stores sold at late rates. Beef.—Light, fat steers, £7 7/6; good quality prime heavy fat cows, £7 5/ to £7 12/6; heavy prime, £5 17/6 to £6 10/; well-done light to medium cows, £4 1/ to £4 16/; rough and plain cows and steers, £51/; good quality well-bred twoyear e.h. steers, £4 10/ to £4 11/; 18-month s.h. steers, good, £4; two-year-old Holstein steers, £3 9/; good framed, well-bred, empty Hereford store cows, £3; other store cows, £2 to £2 10/; two-year empty s.h. heifer, £3 1/; two-year, in calf, Jersey heifers, £5 6/ to £7 15/; Holstein cross in calf heifers, £4 5/ to £6; good dairy cows and heifers, at profit, £8 to £10. Sheep.—Extra heavy prime fat ewea, 27/1; forward conditioned ewes, 14/; forward conditioned two-tooth wethers, 21/6; fat and forward ehorn h.f. lambs, 16/4 to 16/9; forward woolly lambs, 17/9; good stores, 13/11 to 15/3; f.m. ewes, in lamb, 13/6; broken mouth ewes, 8/6 to 12/; culls, 7/. Pigs.—Heavy baconers, £3 8/ to £3 14/; light. £2 18/4 to £3 2/; heavy porkers, £2 14/ to £2 18/; light, £2 5/ to £2 9/; slips, 22/ to 30/: weaners, best, 16/ to 21/; others, 11/ to 14/.
