TO TRADE BETWEEN THE W COLONIES. f Purchased in Denmark for the intercolonial trade, the four-masted auxiliary schooner Margaret W, made her first Appearance at Auckland last evening. ; The Margaret W was built in Denmark six years ago and left the ways ■as the Margot. After trading under (the Danish flag for five years she was purchased by Captain A. F. Watchlin, s>f Auckland, who was visiting England ■with the object of securing a suitable teasel to replace the steamer Karu, which was wrecked on the New Zealand coast last year. Before leaving England the Margaret % loaded a cargo of firebricks at fewcastle-on-Tyne for Mauritius. Thence he went to Port Kembla for stores efore loading poles at Port Stephens ir Kopu. On her trip to New Zealand be vessel averaged 7.2 knots. Fair wather was experienced for the greater wt of the voyage, nothing of an eventpi nature occurring. A vessel of 391 tons, the Margaret W M a cargo carrying capacity of 6jDO man t light draught. She is fitted rtth a full Diesel, engine of 220 h.p., and in carry in her double bottom sufficient B for 330 days use. Cargo is carried , l three hatches, there being, a winch to uh hatch. It is expected that the schooner will ft chiefly engaged in the carriage of plti and sawn timber.
