FISHERMAN INJURED AT SEA.

CONDITION CRITICAL. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHITIANGA, Saturday. When he was going out to the fishing grounds in his launch yesterday afternoon, Mr. Edward Nicholson caught his clothing in the machinery, and his body was severly lacerated. Although in agony, he managed to stop the engine and to restart it to return to Whitianga. After proceeding a couple of miles he was met by Messrs. Wells and Lynch, who were in their fishing launch. Seeing that something was amiss, they drew alongside and brought the injured man back to the port. He was promptly conveyed by ambulance to the hospital. His condition is critical. **
