MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Moanataiari.—The manager reports that the sinking of No. 2 winze was extended Bft, and the ore showed good dabs and colours of gold. Next week it Iβ intended to take a leading stope from the crosscut south to seawards, where good values should be got. New Waiotahi.—The mine manager reports that the drive hillward on the Walo-tahi-Cambria reef has been advanced sft for the week, and the face is now-in hard grey andesite. The course of the drive Is now at nearly right angles to the course of the reef to try and locate the lost or displaced portion. The drive on the main reef from the bottom of the winze hag been advanced hillward 4ft for the week. The reef is still the full width of the drive, and when breaking down several pieces oX stone showing strong blotches of gold were again seen, and all the quartz is being saved for crushing. Golden Age.—The manager reports that the rise on the footwall of the reef In the Golden Age mine has been put up a further distance of sft. It is intended to open out on a reef 60ft ahead of the rise, which, according to the surveyor, may prove to be the No. 1 reef that Is giving such good results in the Lucky Shot mine.
