NEW LYNN TOWN BOARD.

r A meeting of the New Lynn Town i Board was held last evening. There were LPresentrvMeeers. W. G. Lovie (chairman), jH. Putt. J. s. Akehunt, W. £ P. Ward. I. Hughes, and J. A. Fielding. Buildings.—The building inspector repermits had>been issued for the erection of four new dwellings. Seven were in course of erection.

♦w o ** 8 *"" 1 *? ****** reported that four mile* of footpath* had been resurfaced. The enlvert at Gardner Street had been constructed to a width of 48 feet at a cost of £276 10/. He recommended that the work be extended the full width of the road at a further coet of £92 The board agreed to this.

Plunket Num.—The board donated the sum of £5 towards the cost of maintaining a Plunket Nurse in this district.

Triangle^Reserve.—A letter Was received from Mr. W. P. Rankin, in which it was suggested that the Triangle Reserve, situated in the centre of the township, be set aside as a site for a memorial to soldiers. The board decided to reply that they would be pleased to consider any bukgestions.

Hospital Rate.—The Hospital Board advised that the levy on the district for this year amounted to £613 4/8. Work Damaged.—lt was reported that the cement portion of the kerbing-and channelling in process on the Great North Road had been repeatedly damaged by Jamkans at night. The board resolved to have this put a stop to.

Proposed Whau Canal.—A lengthy letter was.received from Mr. D. B. Russell in reference to the above. This was referred to the board's delegates to the conference, which takes place on Thursday next.

Gardner Street,—Residents from this etreet asked the board to take definite steps to put this road in order. The chairman stated that the work referred to was now being proceeded with.
