FATALLY SCALDED.

CHILD IN MILKING SHED.

FELL INTO BOILING WATER.

(By lelograpb.—Own Correspondent.)

NEW PLYMOUTH, Saturday.

The fifteen-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Hine, of Tikorangi, died to-day of scalds received while playing in a milking shed. The father put a bucket of boiling water into a kerosene tin in the shed and the child either sat back into the tin or fell into it. The father at once lifted him out and took his clothes off, but he was badly scalded about the arms and thigh. Medical attention was sought and the little boy was removed to a private hospital. Signs of severe shock were apparent and these became worse, resulting in the child's death.
