That popular officer, Detective-Sergeant lesell, returned to Auckland to-day 012 the Aorangi, after touring Australia with the special police escort provided for the Duke and Duchess of York. Mr. Issell was the only representative of ihe New

Zealand Police Department sent to Australia, and the fact that he was chosen was of itself a high compliment. As a young constable, Mr. Issell was a member of the detachment of picked men which accompanied the present King and Queen on their tour of New Zealand, when they came out some 27 years ago. When the Prince of Wales toured the Dominion in 1920, Mr. Issell was again chosen at a member of the police escort.
