The prospects of establishing dairying in | the Chatham Islands are to be investigated by the New Zealand Agricultural Department. Mr. G. W. Wild, the Government agricultural instructor at Hamilton, has been doputed to carry out the investigations, and has left for the Chathams. If the prospects prove favourable, Mr, Wild | will instruct the settlers in the management of dairying pastures and how to grow other suitable fodder. Dairy cattle will then be imported, and it is probable that a dairy factory will be established.
