OHAKUNE.

Miss M. Newling has been appointed assistant in the local school In place of Miss Meyer, who has left to attend a training college at Wellington. Dr. Duncan Cook has transferred his practice to Dr. C. R. S. Roberts, of Waimate, and leaves for Duuedin. The Ohakune Bowling Club farewelled members in the persons of Dr. Cook and Messrs. Walton and Plummer. Prolonged agitation for increased accommodation at the public school and for adequate buildings to house the high school pupils has had due effect, and word haß been received by the school committee that the senior inspector will visit the district on March 3, with a view to authorising the necessary additions,
