REPORTS OF ACCIDENTS.
WHAT THE LAW REQUIRES. MOTORIST FINED. PALMERSTON NORTH, Monday. "I do not think the provisions Act generally are known," stated counsel for a motorist who was charged at the Magistrate's Court to-day with having failed to report an accident involving injury. "If there is a collision and bad damage to the vehicles involved," continued counsel, "both parties report the accident, but, as in this case, where a motorist collides with a cycle and practically no damage is caused, the matter usually is not reported to the police." The magistrate said an accident had. : to be reported if there was injury to any person. The senior sergeant said obligation to report an accident involving injury generally was known. Practically every motor accident that happened in Palmerston North was reported to the police, whether there was injury or not. In. the. case under notice a fine was imposed. . __,
