LEFT INJURED MATE.
MOTORIST DECAMPS. ALLEGED STOLEN CAR. SMASH ON TEAUTE ROAD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. A smash ended the joy ride of two men on the Teaute Road on Saturday night. One man was badly injured, and the other decamped. The name of the injured man is believed to be May. The car, a three-seater Oakland, belonging to Mr. A. Irwin, of Napier, which is alleged to have been taken from a parking place in Napier, finished it« spin over a bank near The Kennels, Pakipaki. Two motorists arrived on the scene in time to see the missing man departing in l:a«tc. leaving the injured accomplice behind. They brought May into Hasting-;. whence he was taken to the Napier Hospital, where he is now in a serious tate. unable to give an account of the accident. The car was badly wrecked.
