For L«icester Geary took five for 29. Gloucester won. Surrey in their first innings against Middlesex made 579 runs for five wicket? and declared (Hobbs, not out. 316; Jardine, 103; Sandham, SS). Middlesex in their first venture scored 275 (Hendren . not out, 101; Dales. 52) and in their second 241 (Stevens 631. Holmes took . four wickets for 49. Surrey won by an \ innings and 63 runs.
