MURDER CHARGE. PHILADELPHIA, April 26. 7 Widespread belief in the "unwritten " law" was disclosed here yesterday when 3 the trial for murder opened of a young husband who killed his friend when he found him with hie wife. The system of challenges which the United States law allows enabled most of the potential jurymen to escape, many of them pleading that they were t incapable of an impartial decision. Finally 12 men were empanelled. But ■> when the Court asked those who believed J the killing was justified to stand up, 0 seven of the jurymen promptly leaped t to their feet. 1 The Court dismissed them. ? On the argument of the accused's k lawyer that the other five had practically * given 3. decision beforehand, the Court ° also dispensed with their services. The' first day of the trial, therefore, '" ended without one single juryman being v chosen.. • •,,,'■
