ONGARUE STILL RISING. TAUMARUNUI, this day. Heavy rain continued unabated throughout the night and this morning. The Ongatue River is still rising, and the waters are nearing the level of the bank. The Wanganui River, on the other hand, is not seriously affected yet. Two small slips on the railway line near Piriaka were quickly cleared. Three bridges- are reported washed away at Otangiwai. At Matiere there were two feet of water in some of the houses.
